Terjeson Photography is a family oriented business and provides an important niche of landscape photography of the Pacific Northwest, and has other galleries of some of the best photos of backyard birds, butterflies, dragonflies, animals and frogs.
Home is nestled under the great Douglas Firs of the Pacific Northwest on the East hills of Auburn, Washington, near the Cascade Mountains. A little stream runs through the backyard which brings around some birds that go fishing or nesting in the area of the creek, such as, Bald Eagles, Belted Kingfishers, Great Blue Herons, and Mallard Ducks. Oh, if only our two white Great Pyrenees and yellow retriever didn’t chase them off when we try to get their photos!
Auburn is located halfway between Seattle and Tacoma and is near two mountain ranges – the Cascade Mountains to the East, and the Olympic Mountains to the West on the peninsula of Washington State, separated by Puget Sound. Needless to say, the area is very picturesque. (When the sun is shining!)
Archival prints are available of the images, in addition to other retail products bearing the photos such as greeting cards and calendars.
Please feel free to contact us for help finding that perfect photo you’re looking for. We will be more than happy to assist you.
Our Epson printer uses Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink which is an archival quality, pigmented ink producing superior image quality and superb longevity. It is Wilhelm Imaging Research certified and provides lightfastness ratings of 108 years for color and 200 years for black and white under accepted display conditions. It produces archival prints with amazing color fidelity and lifelike quality with stunning photographic feel.
For the larger sized prints, we have chosen one of the finest photographic papers available for digital printing! Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag is a premium 100% cotton paper with the latest microporous coating, setting the benchmark for digital printing. It provides a nice aesthetic feel and has a true pure white tone without using optical brighteners. It is archival, acid free, and is Wilhlem Imaging Research certified for 113 years under accepted display conditions using the above Epson ink. We spray all our prints with an anti-UV protective coating.
Canson does not make the above paper in a 5 x 7 inch size, for which we have chosen Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy which makes extraordinary professional quality prints. It has an ultra smooth and bright white finish and is a heavy weight glossy paper. It is long lasting, having been determined to last 98 years under accepted display conditions.
We mount our paper onto a high-impact .080″ (approx. 3/32″) thick styrene made by Pacific Mount, Inc., in Tacoma, Washington. The styrene is a plastic-based mounting substrate that is sturdy, acid free, and warp resistant. It does not contain any natural fibers that can absorb or release moisture in humid or wet conditions.
We know that custom matting and framing is really nice to make a print fit into a certain area, but, we also know that it costs a pretty penny!
Therefore, we have selected a very nice frame to offer to you as an alternative. It is minimalist framing at its most elegant – nicer than similar types sold in most stores. It has an exceptionally thin face, an aluminum frame, is matte black in color, and easily defines an image but never overwhelmes it. It is the Fineline style F, of the Framatic Company, Framatic.com.
We also use frame spacers from Frametek.com called FrameSpace FS-6, black in color. The spacers are made from a neutral pH plastic and are mechanically permanent art-glass separators that grip over the edge of the glass in picture frames to space the art away from the glass. The spacers help prevent mold growth, paper buckling, image transfer, and adhesion to the glass.
We offer digital downloads in low, medium, and original resolution for personal use.
We also offer licensing of original resolution digital downloads for photo professionals.
It is noted that the website uses jpeg files and may also have a smaller gamut (SRGB) than some of the original photos. The original 3:1 or 5:1 ratio panorama photos, in particular, seem to have a bit more pink or orange color (sunrise or sunset) in the originals, and are quite nicer than are actually depicted in the website. Please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or use the Contact page, and we will be glad to email you the original psd or raw/dng file.
The Love of Photography:
Maybe its the thrill of the hunt, but the ever-challenging attempt at bird photography provides an alluring opportunity to try and capture unique expressions or poses, to make interesting character-study types of portraits, or perhaps different angles or perspectives to provide an artsy flair.
Through it all, we’ve come to appreciate the beauty and majesty of the scenic world, both large and small, that is around us. Surely God’s graceful hand is in it. And then come those moments when things are just right and we are filled with awe and try to capture nature’s magical light.
Those are the moments!
Perhaps our galleries of landscapes and wildlife will help you find the moments you may have missed. . .
